How do sunglasses work?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Just like the bright sun shining in your eyes, as the dark surface of the sunglasses helps to block out bright light and make the world appear darker. The second is that the sun  ultraviolet rays can be harmful in the long term, causing all sorts of problems with your eyes including loss of eyesight and eye cancer. Good sunglasses protect against this, as their lenses filter out most of the harmful UV rays. So how do sunglasses work? The darkening effect is a very simple one: looking at the world through tinted lenses makes it seem darker to you ?

Even though the effect is really just an optical illusion, it can help you if exposure to bright sunlight tends to give you a headache or cause you to squint. The UV-filtering effect, however, is more complex. UV-filtering lenses are coated with special chemicals that allow light to pass through them, but reflect away UV. UV rays are basically high-frequency light waves, which means that the chemical structure has to be built to deflect higher frequency light while allowing through lower frequency light. This is difficult science, and the materials needed to do it are expensive. The most complicated sunglasses of all are prescription sunglasses. These are sunglasses that not only protect from light and UV, but also work like normal glasses to correct your eyesight. For this to work, it requires that normal vision-correction glasses are taken, tinted and coated with UV-reflecting chemicals ?a complicated three-step process. However, all the ingredients work together flawlessly, to produce sunglasses that are wearable by people who need their vision corrected all the time. It is even possible to buy clear tinted lenses that fit over the top of your normal glasses, effectively a do-it-yourself way of making prescription sunglasses.

As a matter of fact,   Lawyers and house inspection are the most important role of  cosmetic surgery.

Gaming And Glasses

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

There are so many games where you can see the odd pair of glasses popping up in the game on one of the characters, here are the best ones out there?

Majikoopa

Koopa Wizards are a big subspecies of the main Troopas and they can actually cast spells. The koopas were given blue robes and hats to make them look even more like a wizard. Kamek is very highly ranked when it comes to the Troopers and he is the leader of the wizards and personal adviser to Bowser. One of the moves should be that you can remove the glasses because without them there is no way these creatures would be able to see.

Bayonetta

This is the newest game on the list and the main protagonist is a glasses wearer, it was given brilliant reviews. I have to say that this game wasn’t what I thought it would be, in fact at best I would call it average. Nothing has deterred me from playing it but nothing has drawn me in to finish it yet. Bayonetta looks to be wearing some pretty nice prescription glasses and if you look at her you would immediately say normal designer glasses wouldn’t work.

Gordon Freeman

I could not call this an article without Mr Freeman making an appearance, he has saved many people from death that is for sure}. He does look like he wears some pretty cheap glasses.

So although none of these characters wear really cool police glasses they do all make a difference to the games that we play.

There are so many other game creations that I could easily of picked from, many, many more. These are just some of the ones I really enjoy playing whenever I get the time, which I have to say I never do anymore.

So there you have it, some of the best gaming glasses wearers

Why Do Children Pick On Other Kids That Wear Glasses?

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

When it comes to children wearing glasses there are some real shockers out there, trust me. There are so many children that find it hard to see why they are being picked on for this reason and do not wish to wear their glasses because they feel uncomfortable?

It is very stereotypical to say that a person wearing glasses is automatically clever, this is not true by any means but it seems that the people the bullies target are the clever, glasses wearers. This is on the whole anyway. The reason that kids do this is because they know the geekier kids are a lot cleverer than them and they also know they are more superior than them. Many fo the children wearing glasses have had their confidence slowly pushed away so they find it hard to fight back.

Important figures

  • 20% if children have seen classmates actually skip one or more day of school because of bullying they received when it came to glasses.
  • 1/4 of all children are upset about their glasses because they have to wear them to school
  • 50% of children do not wear their glasses when they should be
  • 50% of children that wear glasses are called names.

It is figures like this that make you realise just how big the problems are. The first step to take against bullying is to ask the bullies to stop doing it, this is a great because you are encouraging your children to do things for themselves. The next step is to ask your child to make a name for themselves. useing the fact that bullies are often not clever is a great idea. If none of this is working for you then make sure you go into the school and speak to the head, this will certainly make a difference.

So when you think glasses don’t always think cool police glasses and aviator glasses, think about the normal people that wear cheap glasses.

Prescription Glasses- Why Recycle Them

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

You have been living your life normally with glasses for most of your life right? So what would happen if someone was to say you could not wear these glasses anymore, how would you see? Okay the immediate answer would be, so ill get contact lenses. What happens if these are not available? So from that moment you are not going to be able to see as well anymore, fact.

Imagine going through your entire life without seeing, never knowing what it was like to actually see properly but know there was a technology out there that could help you. This is what recycled glasses are for and they are helping people all over the world to see again.

Can You Help?

Well if you do not actually wear glasses there really isn’t that much that you can do but if you do and think you may have an old pair to spare then send them out to an organisation so they can make use of them. A company such as this will make any replacements that may need to be made to the glasses then they will clean them and send them on. You do not need to send out a single coin, an old pair of glasses is actually capable of changing and possibly making a life. designer glasses along with ray ban wayfarer can be sent too because even if the person can see a pair of sunglasses will help in the hot sunshine when they are out working outside.

so there you have it, just a couple of the reasons you should go hunting for your old cheap glasses and get them sent out to someone who really needs them. Most of these will eventually be thrown away, get them out of the drawer and give them to charity.

Sunglasses This Christmas?

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

It seems like a strange thing to be saying but believe it or not the Christmas break could be a key time to wear the sunglasses when out and about. Why on earth does this happen?

Sunlight

It is very hard to believe that harmful UV lights can still push through the clouds and hit the earth surface. Just because it is cold on a sunny day it doesn’t mean that the sun isn’t as powerful so make sure that if the sun is out you are wearing those sunglasses as they will really help you out. One of the best things you can do is just pop them on if it is a bit sunny out then at least you know you are safe.

How on earth can the sun come through and damage the eyes on a cold day?

One of the big problems is that UV rays are invisible which means you can never tell whether or not they are there. Obviously you shouldn’t be wearing sunglasses if it is pouring down with rain but if it is a bit cloudy just take them with you anyway. The UV light will actually go into the eyes and start to cause a reaction within the tissue. Once this damage has been done there is no way it can be reversed which is why it is so important that you wear those ray ban sunglasses.

  • Eye Disease
  • The sun can play a really big role in these diseases:
  • Cataract
  • Pteryguim
  • Skin Cancer
  • Age- Related Macular Degeneration

So as you can see it is certainly worth getting those sunglasses out. If you already where glasses then do not worry as you can get prescription sunglasses that are made for the sun!

So this winter make sure that even if it is a bit chilly out that you at least have your sunglasses with you to make sure your eyes are fully protected.
